So I went to this one yarn company, and printed out a pattern for a dog-shaped bath mitt. As I started making it (first typing out the pattern, as it was written by someone who wasn't all there, I think), I noticed a couple of things. Like why wasn't it made in the round? Hmm... No matter. So I finished the mitt part.
On the bright side, with what I've learned so far, I know I can make some mittens myself, and hopefully make them in the round as well. Which means I can have custom made mittens for the winter, as can Ethan. AND, I can be ultimate winter-mom geek and make that long connector bit, so he won't lose them at school.
Because I already KNOW this child will lose them. And then say that the aliens stole them. Because he's weird like that.
Yes, I realize I only post about once every other week here. D'oh!
Until something of substance happens with me (that I can post in a public forum), I have a question for y'all: If you were my needles, where would you be? I have a dismembered teddy bear who would like to know...
In other news, tomorrow is my birthday! And I'll officially be "old". As in, no longer a twenty-something. Tonight kicks off my self-imposed week of party. Not for any particular reason other than I'm going to see KA next Friday, since I couldn't get my tickets for this weekend. Tonight, I have plans to get a tattoo (though, when I explained this to one of my co-workers, she described it better as getting 3 tattoos), then probably do something touristy. Tomorrow I'll sleep things off. :)
Still...I wish I knew where those needles were!
So as you might have seen, I've become addicted to amigurumi crochet. That's making little toys crocheting in rounds. I love how it's so easy, and you can make something tangible so fast. I love the little bunny pattern I got from Lion Brand Yarn, and last night I started a little girl doll (though I don't have the fuzzy yarn to make her hair, so I've decided that she's going to have long hair). I want more patterns!! Amazon was a bust for a book, so I decided to ask y'all.
Do you know where I can find a good collection of amigurumi patterns? Point the way, please! I'm addicted...though it is a nice, constructive way to spend my time!
And here's Mr. Bunny all finished. Yay!!
Just in case you don't notice them...
I'm learning to crochet, and this is my first car seat blanket. It's not finished yet, but look! There's a hole for the seat belt buckle!
And Jeremy was playing with the new household MacBook, which has a camera. It counts down before it takes a picture. Jeremy did not inform me that it was counting down to take a picture, so my smile is a little dumb. Ethan's trying to get down. But hey, it's not an altogether bad picture. And it's all artsy and sepia toned. Oh, and Payton is the dog. :)
