This past weekend, we went to Disneyland for Ethan's third birthday. Ethan's birthdays have been a tough time for me, but I'm trying a new approach this year of being absolutely insanely busy with things that are cool and fun. So yay! Trip to Disneyland. We drove after we all got out of work, over a couple of really tall mountains I didn't realize were there, arrived at the hotel around 10:30 or so, then went to bed. Ethan had a little nap in the car, but was up until at least midnight. Then we got up at six to go to the park for Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness. It was all worth it. We got to see MICKEY!!!

Fun and excitement and all sorts of other things abounded. As the sun came out in the late morning, we stopped for hats, as that's what I get when I go to Walt Disney World. Same difference, right? Anywho, I wanted to get Ethan some mouse ears, so he picked out the pirate ones. Because he loves pirates. AAAARRRGH!!!! As we walked over to the rockets, Ethan saw something he loves more than pirates: DUCKS! Because, really, what's better than wicked friendly ducks that will eat pretzel Goldfish out of your hand?

And, lastly in my mini-post, we have Buzz Lightyear and Ethan. Aside from seeing MICKEY!!!, we took the trip to Disneyland to see Buzz LIghtyear. Ethan was so excited to go on a Buzz Lightyear ride (which was actually pretty cool), then to visit the Buzz LIghtyear Shoppe. (Okay, not called "shoppe", but it seemed appropriate.) There, he picked up a spinning, light up Buzz Lightyear. Which proceeded to amuse him the rest of the day. Even to the point that when we found the real Buzz Lightyear on the way to lunch, Ethan shared his toy with him, then couldn't decide whether or not to interact with Toy Buzz or Real Buzz. (My favorite thing about this picture:  Even Buzz Lightyear is telling Ethan to look at the camera. Priceless!)

More to come after pictures get taken off the camera. Which will probably be after the wedding (not mine, my sister's). And after my parents leave. Which means sometime around Thanksgiving.
